Bright Semi-PL Fields 1857 1C MS65+ NGC. CAC.

The Flying Eagle cent series is one of the shortest, yet one of the most collectible, of all United States coins. Most view the 1856 cents as patterns, although the mintage was high enough to be collectible, the 1857 is the first official year of production, and the 1858 is the third and final year, and it is split into Large and Small Letters variants. This is an exceptionally attractive coin. One of the most noteworthy features are the bright semi-PL fields on each side. The strike is generally strong with only slight softness evident on the eagle's tailfeathers.
